Abstract

This paper studies the thermal distribution for a Line Start PermanentMagnet Synchronous Reluctance Motor taking the irreversible demagnetization
effect into account by analytical embedded in Matlab that is linked to MotorCAD. However, standard moduls of Motor-CAD can be only applied to investigate
and analyze for induction motors without applying to the Permanent-Magnet
Synchronous Reluctance Motor. Hence, in order to overcome the above
drawback, a finite element method is proposed to research and analyze thermal
distributions of the Permanent-Magnet Synchronous Reluctance Motor. The
development method is performed for theLine Start Permanent-Magnet
Synchronous Reluctance Motor of 7.5kW, 6 poles. The obtained results of the
method allow to define the overheat in the motor and demagnetization areas as
well when starting or short-circuit occurs.
