Abstract

Promoting the "Leadership" role of individuals is considered as an urgent and
vital need for businesses. Previous studies suggested that emotional intelligence
was extremely necessary for a leader because it helped them maximize the
individual performance. However, the effect of emotional inteligence on business
performance has not been well- understood. The aim of this study is to investigate
the relationship between emotional intelligence and business performance. This
study is based on the survey of 109 business leaders in Hanoi and regression
analysis. The main finding is that social skills, self-control, and self-perception of
leaders are important factors of emotional intelligence, and these factors have a
positive influence on business performance.
