Abstract

The shortage of job skills which leads to an increase in graduates'
unemployment rate is considered a challenge for universities. To solve this
problem, universities have cooperated with businesses in training and research. The
purpose of this study is to examine the role of trust and social responsibility
awareness in the relationship between business and universities to create
employment opportunities for graduates. In this paper, the effects of trust and
social responsibility awareness on university-business collaboration and graduates’
employability are tested using the data of 133 universities and firms in Hanoi. The
hypotheses are examined by structural equation modeling (SEM). Empirical results
show that trust and social responsibility awareness play an important role in
improving university-business collaboration and employability of graduates.
