FACTORS AFFECTING COGNITIVE LEARNING OUTCOMES AND STUDENTS' SATISFACTION IN ONLINE TEACHING

Abstract

The quality of education determines the existence of educational institutions in general and Hanoi
University of Industry in particular. In the era of Industry 4.0, information technology has played an
increasingly important role in all life issues, online teaching has contributed a great part to the quality of
teaching and learning at the university level. In particular, online teaching has played a role and achieved
certain effects in the recent Covid pandemic. In this study, a model was applied to test the satisfaction
determinants (HL) and student learning awareness (KQ) in online courses. The independent variables
included in the study are faculty competence, student dynamics, student learning styles, interaction,
course structure, feedback, self-study time and gender count. A total of 966 observations from students
who have taken at least one online course at Hanoi University of Industry. The results of the model
indicate that among the given factors, the hypothesis that affects student cognition and student
satisfaction, there are three factors: Interaction, course structure and style. Students' way of learning is
having a significant impact. The results of the model also reveal that student satisfaction is an important
predictor of academic performance. Since then offering solutions to online teaching at Hanoi University of
Industry promoting the highest efficiency. The findings from the study are important for educators and
administrators in teaching online.
