Manufacture and operation test of anti-slip braking system on motorcycles
Abstract
This paper presents a proposed anti-slip braking system developed based onan existing hydraulic-driven disc brake system on a motorbike.This new
braking system uses a pressure regulator and an electronic control unit
(ECU) to regulate fluid pressure in motocycle braking system. The ECU
monitors wheel angular velocity from a proximity sensor and produces
control signal to activate the pressure regulator based on wheel angular
acceleration. The responsive frequency of the system was tested in the
laboratory and sytem operation test was carried out on different road types:
dry asphalt and wet clay asphalt.
