Application of sustainable development trend in local conditions into the design of high-rise residential area Binh An Plaza District 8, Ho Chi Minh City

Abstract

     In the context of urban development in Ho Chi Minh City, the solution to develop high-rise housing is an appropriate choice to satisfy the development needs of society and urban civilization. High-rise housing development needs to be based on scientific analysis, general planning context and distinct cultural identity of the city. Ho Chi Minh City is a typical urban area in the Southern river region with its own characteristics in terms of climate, natural conditions, culture and society. Therefore, solutions for high-rise housing development need scientific and humane planning and design, in order to respect these characteristics. On the other hand, through studies on natural, cultural and social conditions, it is urgent and necessary to build a sustainable architectural model according to local natural conditions. From this perspective, preliminary research was conducted and discussed on location selection, planning design, architecture, landscape of Binh An Plaza high-rise residential area, District 8 - Ho Chi Minh City, as a case study.
