Artistic space and time in some short stories by Tran Thanh Canh from a psychoanalytic perspective

Abstract

    Artistic space and time are two very important poetic aspects when used to study and analyze a work of story. Each writer, in the process of shaping their writing style, will develop different artistic spaces and times. For author Tran Thanh Canh of the Kinh Bac origin, a member of the Vietnamese Writer Association, he has an artistic space-time which is very unique because of his bohemian and straightforward sexual issues in a very humanistic way. The use of the Psychoanalysis theory of Sigmund Freud to illuminate artistic space-time in Tran Thanh Canh's short stories has given us interesting insights into the cultural values of the Northern sub-region in Vietnam.
