Abstract
The purpose for this work was to isolate fungi from soil and air in HCMC and classify to genus level. Samples were collected in December, 2017 and cultivated for fungi. Fungi isolated from soil include Penicillium, Aspergillus, Trichoderma, Mucor, Fusarium, Phoma, Paecilomyces, Curvularia and Cladosporium; fungi isolated from air were Penicillium, Aspergillus, Fusarium, Paecilomyces, Bipolaris, Curvularia, Nigrospora, Alternaria, Botrytis, Cladosporium and Corynespora. Thirty-eight isolations did not produce sexual or asexual spores so they could not be identified based on the features of colonies in soil cultures and microscopic features.
