Study of sedative activity of extracts of Ba tu duong tam pill without acorus gramineus in Swiss albino mice

Abstract

    Background and Aims: According to Dr. Nguyen Xuan Huyen, the number of patients diagnosed sleep disorders accounted for 10-20% in the neurological clinic. According to research by Qi Fengqi and his colleagues, Ba tu duong tam pill have a sedative effect in mice. In Ba tu duong tam pill, Acorus gramineus have effect of insomnia, but the toxicity of Acorus gramineus increases with the amount of β-asaron contained in it. The purpose of this study was to investigate the sedative effect of ba tu duong tam pill without acorus gramineus in swiss albino mice.Method: Karber-Behren method was used to investigate the oral acute toxicity. The study of sleep time of mice on Pentobarbital sleeping test. Evaluate the timing of the mouse's light compartment on light-dark test. Results: For the dose of 27,48g/kg, no visible toxic effects were observed. Ba tu duong tam without Acorus gramineus dose of 1,14g/kg; 2,29g/kg; 4,57g/kg do not show sedative effects. . Ba tu duong tam without Acorus gramineus dose of 2,29g/kg; 4,57g/kg showed sedative anxiolytic effects.
