TQM in Higher Education and essential factors for implementation at Nguyen Tat Thanh University

Abstract

   Sine the academic year of 2016-2017, quality assurance and quality accreditation have become one of the main concerns from the Ministry of Education and Training to universities. In order to effectively implement, universities need to develop and strengthen the internal quality assurance system in whichtotal quality management model (TQM) is an appropriate approach to meet these requirements. To implement the TQM model, universities should pay attention to four factors, including: (i) developing and implementing quality assurance strategy, (ii) promoting the role of leaders, ( iii) enhancing capacity of teamwork through a consiced and streamlined organization and (iv) using appropriate quality tools for implementation and evaluation. This paper aims to analyze  the essential factors and recommendations for applying TQM at Nguyen Tat Thanh University.
