Maximize the efficiency of electronic resource management in libraries: A systematic approach

Abstract

      In the context of significant changes in the development and management of information resources in libraries, most of the funding has been allocated for the acquisition of e-resources, the e-resources management (ERM) activities should be considered for comprehensive research. The paper presents and analyzes some key issues related to ERM, including collection development policy, management processes, ERM systems and tools, as well as requirements on core competencies for ERM librarians. An ERM model has also been proposed to help libraries take an integrated approach in the actual management process at their units.
