Abstract

The article aims to determine the time when Modern architecture appeared in Vietnam and the basic feature of modern Vietnamese architecture, which is always towards the nation, accompanying the nation. Even in colonial times, although Vietnamese architecture was heavily influenced by that of the French, local culture still exists and develops with time. After the country gained independence and was divided into North and South, the architecture in the two regions, although having certain differences, have always leaned towards solutions with modern tropical Vietnamese characteristics. Since the country entered the period of Doi Moi, the country's architecture has made a leap forward, the trends of composition have become diverse and nuanced, but always paying attention to national solutions, responding to the needs of the people and having local climate response in mind.
