FORECASTING THE IMPACTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE ON THE COASTAL ECOSYSTEM OF QUANG NINH PROVINCE

Abstract

Quang Ninh province has a long coastline and as such, the coastal ecosystem is very diverse with mangroves and coastal areas. These play an extremely important role in responding to climate change. According to the 21st century climate change scenarios produced by Quang Ninh province, the temperature, precipitation and sea level rise all tend to increase compared to the baseline period across the province (temperature increases from 0.7 ÷ 4.0^oC – rainfall increased from 10 ÷ 30% - sea level rise from 5.4 ÷ 102.0 cm). This will negatively affect the coastal ecosystems of the province in terms of the number of species; quality of species; species composition and area of ​​tidal flats, and significantly reduction of mangroves and coral reefs. Therefore, there is a need for key solutions to effectively respond to climate change in the province in the 21st century
