Abstract

This study used a set of indicators for monitoring and evaluating sustainable development at local level, and assessing the impact of natural development (issued in 2013) in Ha Tinh province in the period 2010 - 2020. The evaluation results showed that, the general development indicator was at a relatively sustainable level; development of the main pillars (economic, social, environmental) is not balanced; there are fluctuations and imbalances between components leading to the unstable overall sustainable development of Ha Tinh province. For natural disaster damage, the single index of the extent of damage caused by natural disasters has a Pearson correlation coefficient, r = 0.91 when compared with the index of environmental component, the disaster has caused heavy damage and has a significant and destabilizing impact on the sustainable development of Ha Tinh. In order to minimize damage caused by natural disasters, in addition to having financial support from the Government, Ha Tinh needs to synchronously deploy solutions, focusing on combining structural and non-structural solutions, and step-up prevention, response and remedial work in order to reduce damage caused by natural disasters in the coming time
