LANDSCAPE ZONING IN THE COASTAL AREA OF QUANG NGAI PROVINCE FOR SPATIAL ORIENTING THE RATIONAL USE OF RESOURCES AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION

Abstract

The interaction among such factors as the natural geographic process of the continental - marine, coastal island systems, and the impact of human activities, has created the landscape's diversity and differentiation. Landscape zoning is conducted based on general geographic partition and landscape classification results, taking into consideration usage of resources and environmental protection. The coastal area of Quang Ngai province has characteristics of diversity and specificity in terms of natural conditions and natural resources, especially in marine and positional ones. Based on principles and criteria, the study area is divided into eight landscape sub-regions, namely, the low-mountain west of Binh Son - Tu Nghia (I); the plain of Binh Son (II); the central plain of Quang Ngai (III); the low-mountain west of Mo Duc - Duc Pho (IV); the plain of Mo Duc - Duc Pho (V); the breaking and spreading zone (VI); the deformation wave zone (VII); Ly Son coastal island (VIII). Each landscape sub-region has its natural and human factors. Analyzing the characteristics of landscape sub-regions is the basis for orienting the rational use of the territory in economic development and environmental protection
