THE 13TH NATIONAL PARTY CONGRESS: DEVELOPING CIRCULAR ECONOMY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Abstract
Circular economy is the core solution towards sustainable economic development. In other words, economic development goes hand in hand with environmental protection. This model has been applied by many countries around the world and it has shown positive effects. In recent years in Vietnam, circular economy models and approaches have begun to appear. These have been limited to waste reuse and recycling programs but these have contributed to financial benefits for the community, production and consumption facilities. Building a circular economy was identified by the 13th Party Congress of the Vietnamese Communist Party as one of the country's development orientations for the period 2021 - 2030. Judging from the practical needs, social awareness, technological conditions, especially from the policy set out by the 13th National Congress, the transition to a circular economy is an appropriate direction to realize Vietnam’s sustainable development goals
