Classroom management capacity of students preparing to graduate from pedagogical universities - A self-assessment study of students

Abstract

This study was designed according to a cross-sectional study model, conducted on 418 3rd and 4th year students, randomly selected from the following schools: Hanoi National University of Education, University Pedagogy - University of Danang, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, aims to assess students' classroom management capacity, focusing on 4 major aspects: Class coverage and time management; Organizing and managing learning activities; Behavior management; and classroom management with positive discipline. Self-assessment results show that students are confident and successful in time management and student learning activities in a number of indicators. In addition, there are limitations in the following areas: Coverage of classes; Prevent, detect and promptly handle student behavior problems during school hours; classroom management by positive discipline... This is an important practical basis, contributing to providing more arguments for renovating pedagogical training content to meet practical requirements.
