Developing responsibility links between teacher training institutions and schools in the organization of teaching intership for students

Abstract

Building the responsibility link teacher training institutions and schools in the organization of teaching intership for students is of key importance in the teacher education process. Because the period of pedagogical internship takes place in schools, students have the opportunity to get to know the school practice where they will work after graduation; where they apply the theoretical knowledge learned into their own works; a place that gives students insights into practical and relevant local and contextualities. However, in the current teacher training practice, the responsibility link between schools and education universities remains one way, in which schools participate in assisting the education universities as supporters rather than stakeholders. In particular, the reality shows the lack of motivation to make mentors participate in instructing internships, the lack of regulations on responsibility commitments, and agreements on professional interests between the two sides to orient the responsibility for participation. Based on analyzing the content of teaching intership, the current situation of responsibility association between teacher training institutions and schools, the article indicates principles, building a responsible link between the education universities and the schools in the organization of teaching intership for students towards the development of a sustainable and effective collaborative relationship.
