Capacity of choosing and building assessment tools: status and constraints of primary school teachers

Abstract

   In the article, the authors present survey's results conducted among 575 primaryschool teachers in Vietnam on their capacity of choosing and building assessment tools -one of the six components of the educational assessment capacity. The survey's resultsshow that most primary school teachers have abilities and know how to choose and buildassessment tools; however, there is still a considerable percentage of those, whosecapacity is ranked low. The results also show constraints (weaknesses) of primary schoolteachers, which affect their performance. Thus, this paper contributes information to thesetting of the training programs and proposes solutions to improve the capacity of choiceand building assessment tools for primary school teachers.
