Abstract

Objectives: By 3 cases of celiac plexus neurolysis (CPN) with absolute alcohol, under the CT guidance. This article is aimed to discuss about the short-term efficacy of this procedure and also the technic.

Material and Methods: Case series reported of 3 patients with severe pain due to unresectable pancreatic cancer were subjected to CT-guided CPN by ethanol via anterior approach.

Results: The pain relief was always obtained during the procedure without any grave complication.

Conclusion: CPN was effective for upper abdominal pain, and reduced systemic analgesic therapy use. Anterior approach made the patient feel comfortable during the procedure. CT helps to locate exactly the tip of the needle in right position and evaluate the spread of contrast after injection.
