Abstract

The debris flow, flash flood occurred on the night of October 1, 2022 and the early morning of October 2, 2022 in Huoi Giang stream basin, Ta Ca commune, Muong Xen town, Ky Son district, Nghe An province are analysed to reveal the characteristics of initiation, movement, sediment. Coverage degradation factor, rainfall threshold of warning, impact mechanism and practical response countermeasures to Ta Ca debris flow – flash flood, are studied and drawn into practical lessons for prevention and mitigating the hazards of debris flow and flash flood in high risk basins.
