Abstract

The horseshoe-shaped hollow pile dyke is a type of breakwaters used to reduce wave energy from a distance. By employing physical model experiments, the paper presents research results on the wave reflection characteristics of this structure under different wave conditions, water levels and perforations. The results show that the wave reflection coefficient (Kr) ranges from 0.27 to 0.54 when the wave-facing surface of the component is perforated at a rate of 15%-25%, significantly reducing compared to the case without surface perforations, where (Kr) ranges from 0.58 to 0.84 under the same experimental conditions.
