Abstract

This paper uses ensemble Kalman filter method (integrated in OpenDA software) to assimilate wave data in BienDong for SWAN model. Four buoy stations and satellite data were used to assimilate data to validate the impact of assimilation on wave forecast over BienDong sea. First results show the posstive effects of data assimilation in improving wave forecast by reducing errors in wave prediction at both 24-hour and 48-hour periods in BienDong sea.
