Nghiên cứu xây dựng mô hình mô phỏng lũ lưu vực sông KONE

Abstract

Currently, flood occurs more frequently in term of both magnitude and intensity causing heavy damages in Vietnam including the Kone river basin. Flood simulation is an efficient tool for flood management and control. This paper studies to develop a distributed model for flood simulation for the Kone river basin. The model includes two moduls: a rainfall-runoff modul for flow simulation in the sub-basins and a routing flow modul to route the flow in channels. The application of the model for 11 historical events shows that the model can simulate well the floodwith the Nash coefficient higher than 0.5. This model can be applied for other basins with reservoir simulation modul in order to have a flood forecasting tool.
