FACTORS AFFECTING THE LEVEL OF PSYCHOLOGICAL ADAPTATION OF FIRST YEAR STUDENTS AT THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY – LAO CAI CAMPUS

Abstract

Through studying the current state of psychological adaptation of first-year students at Thai Nguyen University – Lao Cai Campus, the study analyzed influencing factors (gender, personality traits, demographics, place of residence, economy - finance, family - relatives, friends, teachers, participating organizations) and provided solutions to improve the negative impacts of the above factors. The research used sociological research methodsincluding specific qualitative and quantitative research such as in-depth interviews with 15 first-year students, questionnaire survey of 175 first year students atLao Cai Campus. Collected research data were processed and analyzed on SPSS software. Research results show that psychological adaptation of first-year students at the campus is at an average level. Correlation analysis results show that the researched factors all have an inpact on the level of psychological adaptability of the first-year students at Thai Nguyen University- Lao Cai Campus.
