SURGICAL RESULTS OF CEMENTLESS TOTAL HIP ARTHROPLASTY AND FACTORS RELATED TO RESULTS AT THAI NGUYEN C HOSPITAL
Abstract
The aim of this study was to evaluate the results of using cementless total hip arthroplasty (THA) and factors related to results at Thai Nguyen C Hospital. Materials and Methods From January 2018 to June 2019, a total of 59 consecutive THAs were performed. Results showed that patients’ average age was 58.28 + 12.22 (from 31 to 83 years old); the age group > 60 years old was 42.4%. There were 78.0% male patients, higher than women (22.0%), the rate of male/female was 3.54/1. The mean Harris hip score as 50.8% for excellent results, 28.8% being good, 11.9% fair, and 8.5% poor. There were non correlation between surgical outcome with age, sex and history of alcoholism (p > 0.05). The surgical outcome was correlated to the history of diabetes and BMI (p < 0,05). Cementless total hip arthroplasty mostly improves hip jiont fuction in the patients with severe osteoarthritic hips.
