Abstract

Generation Z, with their distinctive process of maturation and socialization, demands continuous adaptation from organizations. And the volunteer activities of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union are not exempt from this trend; they also need to innovate to maintain the interest of this generation. The worldview of students shaped in a digital environment raises notable questions: what are the motivations and goals when participating in volunteer activities?, and how should the organization of the Union change its operational methods? By synthesizing research documents on this generation, this article addresses the characteristics of personality, behavior, and perceptions of volunteer activities among Generation Z students, thereby analyzing and proposing suitable approaches for the Youth Union through improving organizing methods, communication management and including education in volunteering activities. Based on the analysis of challenges, the study presents some recommended solutions to help improve and develop volunteer activities carried by the Youth Union within universities.
