IMPACTS OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ON THE LABOUR FIELD: ADVANTAGES AND CHALLENGES OF THE VIETNAMESE LABOUR LAW

Abstract

Labour rights, a cornerstone of human rights acknowledged in domestic and international legal frameworks, are under scrutiny due to recent advancements in artificial intelligence. Concerns have arisen among nations regarding the potential for artificial intelligence's autonomous learning capabilities to precipitate widespread job displacement, thus impacting labour law. However, the validity of these concerns warrants examination. Through methodologies including historical analysis, comparative study, and critical analysis, this article examines the significant effects of artificial intelligence on labour rights in the present day, aiming to address whether we are overestimating the importance of AI. Ultimately, the article offers suggestions for enhancing Vietnam's labour legislation on artificial intelligence. The findings of this study contribute to filling gaps in the global understanding of labour law concerning artificial intelligence-related matters.
