Abstract

Vietnam and India established a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in 2016, opening a new era in bilateral cooperative relations. Accordingly, defense and security cooperation is one of the main pillars in the cooperative relationship between Vietnam and India in the context of complex changes in the region and the world, especially in the East Sea. The article mainly uses qualitative analysis methods through surveying secondary data to study the development of Vietnam-India defense and security cooperation from 2016 until now. The results show that the scale and mechanisms of bilateral defense and security cooperation have developed strongly after the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partner. From there, the article proposes some policy implications to enhance connectivity and promote even broader and deeper cooperation in Vietnam-India defense and security cooperation in the future.
