TEACHING IN RELATION TO SOCIO-CULTURAL CONTEXTS TO IMPROVE STUDENT’ PERSONAL AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Abstract
One of the teaching methods which is acceptable for the 2018 General Education Program is context-based teaching, that encourages students to develop their social and personal responsibility for local cultural and societal issues. The purpose of this study is to provide an overview of teaching in relation to socio-cultural contexts. It is evident that the most crucial element of this type of teaching is that teachers must select a learning context appropriate for the lesson's subject, from which it is possible to identify specific teaching situations that can have a positive impact on students' personal and social responsibility. This report has done that by using both theoretical research techniques and experimental techniques. The study's findings have proposed a teaching strategy related to cultural and social contexts and uses this strategy to teach students in the Central Highlands about the Sound Unit (Natural Science Grade 7).
