Abstract

It has been a huge and vital task for higher educational institutions to attract students who are about to choose majors and universities for their studies and job preparations. Based on collected data on admission results from 2018 to 2022, this study presented a comprehensive analysis and evaluation on the status of student’s selection for regular training programs in Dong Thap University in the above-mentioned period. Research results showed that, in terms of how much they could attract students, Dong Thap University’s training programs could be categorized into three separate groups, with the first being the ones to attain enough admission quota in the past consecutive five years, the second being the training programs with enough students enrollment in the last two or three recent years and the last ones that received very little or no students’ registration in those such five years. In addition, another finding in this study revealed that the training programs in Dong Thap University attracted a large number of students from Dong Thap province while very few students from other provinces in the Mekong Delta region entered the University. Accordingly, the authors have proposed several communication measures for the University’s future admission activities to draw the students’ attention to Dong Thap university before they make final decision on university entrance.
