FACTORS AFFECT KNOWLEDGE OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH CARE AMONG STUDENTS AT PHU LUONG HIGH SCHOOL, PHU LUONG DISTRICT, THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Abstract

This study aims to analyze factors affecting the knowledge of reproductive health and sexually transmitted diseases among students at Phu Luong high school, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province.  A cross-sectional study was applied in this study. 598 students participated and self-fill in the questionnaire about knowledge of reproductive health care and sexually transmitted diseases. Binary logistic regression was used to analyze the association between some factors and students’ knowledge. 40,6% of students did not have correct answers for at least 50% of questions. Factors affecting their knowledge include grades, living with parents, being active in finding knowledge, communicating with friends about reproductive health care, and sexually transmitted diseases. Should strengthen knowledge of reproductive health care and sexually transmitted diseases for students. Especially, encourage them to be active in updating their knowledge, communicating with friends, and living with both parents in order to improve their knowledge of reproductive health care and sexually transmitted diseases.
