EFFECTS OF WASTEWATER FROM PHONG KHE INDUSTRIAL CLUSTERS ON WATER QUALITY OF THE NGU HUYEN KHE RIVER, BAC NINH CITY

Abstract

This study assessed the effect of wastewater from Phong Khe industrial cluster on water quality of Ngu Huyen Khe river, Bac Ninh city. 02 wastewater samples of Phong Khe industrial clusters and 5 water samples of Ngu Huyen Khe river at the segment flowing through the Phong Khe industrial clusters (BOD5, COD, TSS, NH4+, Total N, Total P, S2-, Cl-, PO43-, heavy metal, Coliform) were taken and analyzed, then these results were compared to a research in 2019. The research results show that surface water quality has been being affected by wastewater from Phong Khe industrial clusters although the wastewater quality of Phong Khe industrial clusters now is better than in 2019 in some parameters such as BOD5, COD, TSS, Fe, NH4+, S2-. The surface water of Ngu Huyen Khe river has been improved significantly compared with the results in 2019. The water quality for the parameters of NO2, PO4, heavy metals, coliform were all good within the standard’s threshold, while the water quality for the parameters of BOD5, COD, ammonium were still 1.2-1.8 times over the threshold in standard QCVN 08:2015/BTNMT but improved compared to the result in 2019.
