FACTORS AFFECTING SUSTAINABLE TOURISM DEVELOPMENT IN AN GIANG PROVINCE, VIETNAM

Abstract

Sustainable development, including tourism development, is a common trend in all economies. An Giang province has oriented to build and develop the tourism industry into a spearhead economic sector and a tourist center of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. To achieve this goal, An Giang province should have a development policy in the right direction, while ensuring development, exploiting natural advantages, and ensuring long-term sustainable growth. The study's objective is to examine the factors affecting sustainable tourism development in An Giang province, Vietnam. The study used methods of  descriptive statistical analysis, exploratory factor analysis, and regression analysis. The data were collected from a survey of 650 domestic and foreign tourists to An Giang. SPSS 20, and AMOS 24 software were used to analyze and evaluate the scale and test hypotheses. The results of the study show that there are six factors affecting sustainable tourism development in An Giang province, Vietnam, including economy, society, environment, tourism human resources, tourism products and services, and infrastructure.
