FACTORS AFFECTING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF ONLINE TEACHING ACTIVITIES IN HANOI’S UNIVERSITIES

Abstract

This study analyzes the factors affecting the effectiveness of online teaching activities in Hanoi’s universities. 128 valid samples were collected by sending the online questionnaires as in Google Form to the students and lecturers who are studying and working at various universities in Hanoi. We employed descriptive statistics, reliability analysis of Cronbach's Alpha scale, exploratory factor analysis EFA and regression analysis. Among the analyzed factors, technology level indicates the most significant influence on the online teaching’s effectiveness (47.8%), followed by Learners' actions (35.2%), Teachers’ behaviors (32%) and Course characteristics (27.9%). To improve the online teaching performance, recommend is to increase the investment in technology level as well as information technology infrastructure. Additionally, efforts and cooperation from different stakeholders including students, lecturers and the universities are required.
