Abstract
Street tree system is an important part of urban landscape. Street tree planning is one of the contents of urban environmental planning and management. The purpose of this study is to assess the current status of urban trees on some main roads and propose urban green tree planning for Thai Nguyen city. The study used the field survey method, which was conducted 3 times in the second quarter of 2021 in order to classify, supplement data or re-check the data that in the synthesis process is still missing or unreasonable. The survey results show that on 29 main roads of Thai Nguyen city, there are about 7.335 green trees. In 2030, it is proposed that the city needs to plant more 5.432 trees on these 29 main roads to meet the demand for the distance between urban green trees on the street according to the regulations of Circular No. 20/2005/TT-BXD on urban green tree management. The current system of trees in the city is not uniform in the type and distribution. Therefore, it is necessary to give out synchronous solutions on green space planning to ensure the city's sustainable development.
