IMPROVING THE INVESTMENT ENVIRONMENT TO ATTRACT FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT INTO THAI NGUYEN PROVINCE

Abstract

Investment environment is one of the factors that have a great influence on attracting foreign direct investment. In the past few years, Thai Nguyen province has been achieved certain achievements in improving the investment environment to attract foreign direct investment. However, how to further improve the quality of attracting foreign direct investment is an issue that Thai Nguyen province needs to study. The author has analyzed the investment environment of Thai Nguyen province through the provincial competitiveness index, the impact of the investment environment on attracting foreign direct investment to Thai Nguyen province. Secondary data sources are generalized and analyzed by descriptive statical methods, comparative statistics. The research results show that, Thai Nguyen province’s investment environment has been basically improved, foreign direct investment was declined in the period 2016 -2020. The study proposed some solutions to improve the investment environment to attract foreign direct investment into Thai Nguyen province more effectively. These solutions have great implications for the development of both economics and society, as well as improving people’s quality of life.
