ON THE PRINCIPLES OF DEMOCRATIC CENTRALISM

Abstract

Democratic centralism was proposed by V. I. Lenin and has become the basic principle in the organization and activities of communist parties. Democratic centralism is also the basic principle in the organization and activities of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the entire political system of Vietnam.  Based on the Lenin-Maxism theory, Ho Chi Minh’s thought, and methodologies of analysis and synthesis, methodologies of comparison and contrast, methodologies of generalization and abstraction, this paper analyzes the conception of V. I. Lenin and President Ho Chi Minh about the nature of this principle. The article analyzed and clarified the content of the principle of democratic centralization in the organization and activities of our Party and State. It also pointed out the achievements and limitations of implementing this principle in our country, from which the author proposed some solutions to heighten the implementation of the principle in our country nowadays.
