DESIGNING EXERCISES IN A CHINESE TEXTBOOK FOR BUSINESS AT SCHOOL OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES - THAI NGUYEN UNIVERSITY (BASED ON EVALUATING THE SPEECH TEXTBOOK OF BUSINESS CHINESE)

Abstract

To acquire useful suggestions for the compilation and edition of exercises for the subject of Chinese for Businesse at School of Foreign Languages - Thai Nguyen University, this article focuses on two main contents. The former is the overall survey of exercises in "Speech Textbook of Business Chinese (Vol. 1)" by Ji Jin, the second content is, basing on that survey, to give some useful suggestions in compiling and editing reference exercises for the Chinese for Business module at the School. Through four criteria of author Li Quan: practicality, pragmatism, science and attractiveness, the authors have surveyed, analyzed, evaluated a total of 14 types of task instructions, 226 exercises in the Speech Textbook of Business Chinese. The findings are the generalized comments about the advantages and limitations in terms of the exercise design of this textbook, from which proposals for compiling and editing reference exercises are made serving the teaching of Chinese for Business subject at the School of Foreign Languages - Thai Nguyen University.
