THE CONSPIRACY AND ACTION OF AMERICA IN RAIDING HAI PHONG’S TRANSPORTATION TARGETS DURING THE FIRST DESTRUCTIVE WAR (1965-1968)

Abstract

During the resistance against the US for national salvation, Hai Phong was a strategic area in both politics, economy and defense. When waging the first destructive war (1965-1968), one of the most targets attacked violently by the US was the points, routes and means of transport of Hai Phong, to destroy strength of a large rear in the North. The study used the methods of fieldwork, in-depth interviews and data collection from documents of the Party Committee of Hai Phong city, from domestic and foreign research projects based on the fundamental of applying the methodology of Marxism - Leninism, the methods of history, logic, analysis, synthesis etc. The research results clarified the specific factors that made Hai Phong's transportation system become the main and leading target in the plan of destruction, at the same time the American imperialist's conspiracies and tricks were clarified in many points of view, more codified, more logical, and illustrated one of the most fierce fronts in Hai Phong in the years 1965 - 1968.
