Abstract

Improving the competence of teaching on reading comprehension for students in Literature and linguistics teacher education is an issue that needs to be considered in the context of changes in the general education curriculum. The purpose of the paper is to examine and analyze the current situation of teaching reading comprehension of current Literature students and the requirements of teaching on reading comprehension in the literature 2018, thereby proposing solutions to improve reading comprehension force for students. The article has used research methods: surveying, describing the situation. The author evaluated 225 reading comprehension lesson plans and 90 text reading instruction classes of 45 fourth year students of the Faculty of Literature - Thai Nguyen University of Education. In order to improve reading comprehension capacity for literature and linguistics teacher education students, teacher training institutions need to enhance reading comprehension skills, teach literacy text for students and enhance professional training regularly for students. These are necessary measures to develop reading comprehension competency for Literature pedagogical students, helping them be trained to stand firmly as they are still being at university.
