THE SUSTAINABLE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT AND ISSUES RAISED IN VIETNAM

Abstract

In the process of economic development, industry plays an important and decisive role for economic growth rate and increasing per capita income. However, the industrial development also faces many challenges such as environmental pollution, resource depletion, climate change, negative impacts on society, etc. On the basis of summarizing and analyzing the data and evidences, the article highlights three issues: First, the need for sustainable development and sustainable industrial development. Second, the connotation of the concept of sustainable development and sustainable industrial development. Third, the issues raised with sustainable industrial development in Vietnam nowadays in the fields of economy, society and environment. From there, we affirm the path of industrial development in the direction in which the population, economy, society, natural resources and environment are taken into consideration holistically in order to minimize impacts that hinder the development of each nation. That is the path of sustainable industrial development and also an urgent issue for the process of speeding up industrialization and modernization of Vietnam's current economy.
