THE SOCIO-ECONOMIC CHARACTERISTICS OF DAO THANH PHAN PEOPLE IN HAI HA DISTRICT, QUANG NINH PROVINCE

Abstract

Dao Thanh Phan is one of the groups of the Dao ethnic minority. They have formed and preserved the unique economic and cultural values of their ethnic groups while they are living with other ethnic groups in the same land. The article addresses the traditional socio-economic characteristics of the Dao Thanh Phan people in Hai Ha District, Quang Ninh Province. In order to clarify the research problem, the article uses historical methods, logical methods, and ethnographic fieldwork methodology, systematize the article for a more general view. Going through history's changes, the Dao Thanh Phan people have greatly contributed to economic and socio development of Quang Ninh province in general as well as Hai Ha district in particular; at the same time, preserving and promoting values of the ethnic community. Through the study, the author also wants to contribute to raising the sense of responsibility, strengthening the great unity bloc of the entire people, preserving the traditional cultural values of the nation in the current period of international integration.
