PHOTOTHERMAL THERAPY WITH GOLD NANOPARTICLES ON TUMOR

Abstract

This paper investigates the photothermal effect of gold nanorods and core/shell gold nano as SiAu or FeSiAu based on their ability to absorb light in their near-infrared region. The experiments were conducted on live meat tissue of different sizes. The photothermal effect is performed on two independent experiments: i) investigated changes in tissue temperature when injected with the same amount of gold nanoparticles; and ii) investigated changes in tissue temperature when using SiAu and gold nanorods have the same absorption. The results show that gold nanorods and SiAu nanoparticles with the same absorption at 808 nm have the same photothermal conversion which is higher than that of FeSiAu particles.
