CLINICAL, SUBCLINICAL CHARACTERISTICS AND TREATMENT RESULTS OF HIV-INFECTED CHILDREN FROM MOTHER AT BAC NINH PEDIATRIC & OBSTETRIC HOSPITAL

Abstract

Objectives: Describe clinical and subclinical characteristics and treatment results by ARV in children infected with HIV from HIV positive mothersat Bac Ninh pediatric &obstetric hospital. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional description of 31 HIV-infected patients from HIV positive mothers were treated from January, 2018 to June, 2019. Result: The rate of women/men is 1.2/1; Themedian age is 162.5 months (rank 108-210 month). The average duration of first treatment is 53.2 months postpartum. 93.5% is stage 1; 6.5% of stage 2. Pre-treatment viral load averaged 9239.03 copies/ml. 87.1% was treated regimen 1. The rate of good results after treatment reached 83.9%. Some significant factors related to treatment are: clinical stage 1, low viral load group and use of regimen 1. Conclusion: ARV treatment for children infected with HIV from their motherat Bac Ninh pediatic & obstetric hospital is achieved well results: 83.9% is good, 16.1% is not good.
