DIVERSITY OF AMPHIBIAN AND REPTILIAN IN NAM XUAN LAC SPECIES AND HABITAT CONSERVATION AREA, CHO DON DISTRICT, BAC KAN PROVINCE

Abstract

This study presents the result of the current status of amphibian and reptilian species in Nam Xuan Lac Species and Habitat Conservation Area, Cho Don District, Bac Kan Province. We conducted 6 conservation surveys from June 2018 to May 2019, we collected 182 specimens of 81 amphibian and reptilian species belonging to 55 genus, 23 family and 3 order. Among them, Squamata is the most diverse set with 14 families, 45 species. This study added 48 species to the study area and identified 16 amphibian and reptilian species in this area threatened, including 12 species named in the Vietnam’s Red Data Book (2007); 4 species listed in the IUCN Red List (2018); 7 species named in Decree of Government 32/2006 / ND-CP.
