Abstract

In light of the question of how to make language learning attractive and appealing to learners, the use of language games in foreign language classes is being widely applied. In order to enhance the roles of games (namely creating excitement, promoting competitiveness, stimulating creativity, fostering critical thinking and boosting team working spirit..), teachers have made efforts to apply and integrate them into different lessons, especially those focusing on vocabulary learning. This is further confirmed when we apply games in the non-major French classes at School of Foreign Languages, Thai Nguyen University. With an uplifting spirit, students indeed became more excited, active and proactive when allowed to learn through games, making the process of acquiring knowledge (especially in terms of vocabulary) easy and highly effective to meet the objectives of the subject.
