RESEARCH ON SUPPLEMENTING FOLIAR NUTRIENTS FOR TAIWAN GUAVA TREES IN THE ORCHARD OF AGRONOMY FACULTY- UNIVERSITY OF AGRICULTURE AND FORESTRY

Abstract

Study on the effect of foliar fertilizer on growth, fruit yield and quality of 5-year-old Taiwan guava variety at the orchard model of the Aronomy Faculty - Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry in the Spring-Summer season, 2018. The experiment included 5 treatments corresponding to spraying 4 types of foliar fertilizers: FLOWER-95, TRIMIX-DT, FERTIGOLD, POLYFEED-5 and control with spraying fresh water was carried out on the planted guava trees that had equivalent growth. The results showed that the foliar fertilizers affected the growth of Spring buds, flowering and fruiting, fruit yield and fruit quality of Taiwan guava in the Spring-Summer season. In which, 3 treatments: FLOWER - 95, TRIMIX - DT, POLYFEED-5 produced from 25.0 - 27.2 kg fruit/tree/ flush, higher than the control (21.5 kg/tree/flush); the total sugar content (7.1 to 8.41%), higher than the control (5.53%); the total acid concentration (0.25 - 0.3%), lower than the control (0.36%) and vitamin C content reached 103.72 - 117.78 mg/100 grs, in which TRIMIX treatment was higher than the control (115.25 mg/100 grs).
