Study on the Effect of Stabilizer Bars When Trucks Enter Curves

Abstract

This study investigates the effect of the stabilizer bar on trucks when entering a curve, through simulating automotive dynamics (using Matlab Simulink software). The results show that the installation of a stabilizer bar helps reduce the tilt angle of the truck bed and minimizes the vertical load variation between the wheels, thereby increasing the anti-roll capability when the vehicle enters a curve at different speeds (40 km/h and 60 km/h). This demonstrates the importance of the stabilizer bar in enhancing the safety of trucks in traffic, and also serves as a basis for further research on the dynamics of vehicle cornering
