Abstract

This study attempts to identify medicinal plants in Vietnam that possess anti-hepatocarcinoma properties. We have gathered eight therapeutic herbs by integrating information from prior investigations. Next, isolate and store raw extracts from these eight plants and assess their ability to suppress the growth of HEPG2 and HCCJ5 liver cancer cells using the MTT assay. The screening results indicated that the extracts from Cuc Tan had the most potent inhibitory effect, with a percentage of viable cells at 1.32 ± 1.20% on the HEPG2 cell line and 0.1633 ± 0.15% on the HCCJ5 cell line as compared to the control group (default is 100%). Plant extracts that suppress more than 50% of cell growth are La Dang, Xuyen Tam Lien, and Sai Dat. The extracts Ngu Gia Bi Gai, Kim Ngan Hoa, Thanh Tao, and Kim That Tai did not affect the survival of liver cancer cells.
